Direct-to-Sale Products

HOMEMADE FOOD PRODUCTS

Due to recent legislation known as the “Home Consumption and Homemade Food Act” (HB 181), producers of homemade food products may sell directly to informed consumers without regulation, certification, or permit.  This does not include meat, alcoholic, or raw milk products.  Vendors of this type are required to be in our “Direct-to-Sale” section of the market and to label their products in accordance with regulations set forth in HB 181.

For the full HB 181 document see: https://le.utah.gov/~2018/bills/static/HB0181.html

BOOTH MARKINGS

“Direct-to-Sale” vendors must have their booths clearly marked with the following information:

“This booth sells homemade food products, which have not been certified, licensed, regulated or inspected by state or local authorities.”
